Special Olympic Day
"If you still have one more point to play, no matter what the score is, you still got a chance to make a difference in your favour".
- Victoria Azarenka.
Special Olympics Victoria (SOV) is proud to be part of the Special Olympics Australia network that provides weekly sports training and regular competition for people with intellectual disability. Through sport, people with intellectual disability learn the skills and build the confidence that can help them achieve their personal best in sport and in life.
NANDM has been involved with SOV for over 20 years, volunteering their time through coaching sessions, running Tennis Days and the Tennis State Games for the athletes as well as taking the Victorian Team away for the National Games.
Each year NANDM run a day for the SOV athletes at the Hurstbridge Tennis Club. This is a great opportunity and experience for club members and junior coaching students to be a part of. The athletes love attending these days, not only for the tennis but also to socialise with the Hurstbridge Community.
NANDM appreciate the help and support of the Hurstbridge Tennis Club members and their coaching students to help make these days memorable for the SOV athletes.
Details will be emailed prior to the event.
